On March 26, 1953, Jonas Salk announced that his polio vaccine had been run through successful trials. There were worldwide celebrations. Polio was a parent's greatest fear at the time. That's why March 26th is National Science Appreciation Day (NSAD). Every year, we have around 20 US States declaring March 26 as NSAD. Here are some ideas so teachers can mark this day with their students.

Bertha Vazquez was interviewed for this year's NSAD, too! Please feel free to share this interview, it really encapsulates the positive nature of the day.
